Litigation Legal Assistant – Insurance Defense (Medical Malpractice)
Location: Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 - on site
Salary: $64,000–$68,000
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our insurance defense practice in Altamonte Springs. The firm focuses primarily on medical malpractice defense and is looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong litigation support and legal administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage heavy scheduling and calendaring of hearings, depositions, mediations, and deadlines
Maintain litigation calendars and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
Draft, format, and file legal documents and correspondence
Assist attorneys with day-to-day litigation support
Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and insurance carriers
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Provide general legal administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Medical malpractice defense experience is a strong plus
Excellent calendaring, scheduling, and time-management skills
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court filings
Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Professional communication and organizational skills
