Litigation Attorney

We are seeking a dedicated Litigation Attorney with 5 to 7 years’ experience specializing in Insurance Defense to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for litigating a diverse portfolio of insurance defense cases, providing expert legal counsel, and advocating for clients through all phases of litigation. Ideal candidate will have experience in general liability, personal injury, property damage, employment and civil disputes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your negotiation skills and legal expertise will make a tangible impact.
Duties
• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, and courtroom advocacy
• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case arguments and stay current on relevant laws and regulations
• Draft comprehensive legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and trial briefs with precision and clarity
• Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining client interests and fostering positive relationships with opposing counsel
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials with confidence and professionalism
• Maintain meticulous case files and records in accordance with legal administrative standards
Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Florida
• Proven experience in litigation with a focus on insurance defense
• Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw for legal analysis and case preparation
• Excellent writing skills demonstrated through clear legal drafting of pleadings, motions, and correspondence
• Proficiency in negotiation tactics to achieve favorable case outcomes
• Familiarity with the litigation process from initial complaint through trial or settlement negotiations
• Legal administrative experience including managing case files and documentation efficiently
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative and attention to detail
