Line Mechanic
Location: Halethorpe, MD
Duration: 4-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $34/hour
Position Overview
The Line Mechanic is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of bottling production lines. This role ensures optimal equipment performance through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and line changeovers. The Line Mechanic will proactively identify potential issues, communicate effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize uptime, safety, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Production Line Maintenance & Operations
Perform all line changeovers, preventative maintenance, repairs, machine installations, and upgrades.
Support facility-wide maintenance activities to ensure seamless operations.
Anticipate, identify, and communicate mechanical or operational issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Minimize downtime while maximizing efficiency and productivity.
Own and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance processes.
Safety & Compliance
Understand and comply with all maintenance safety requirements.
Ensure all equipment repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.
Report safety concerns, accidents, and near misses immediately.
Participate in safety inspections and accident investigations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free work environment.
Adhere to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
Continuous Improvement & Performance
Continuously improve maintenance processes, services, and overall workplace culture.
Provide input to enhance equipment capabilities and improve line efficiency.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain product quality and production speed without compromising safety.
Recommend cost-saving ideas and improve maintenance efficiency within budget constraints.
Execute annual maintenance plans to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
Performance will be measured by KPIs and Culture Survey outcomes.
Professional Development & Team Collaboration
Develop and execute a personal development plan in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Improve at least one skill annually to enhance performance and career growth.

Qualifications
Experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or bottling/production environment preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and safety standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production setting.
Strong communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
