The Licensed Chemist is responsible for performing, validating, and documenting chemical analyses and tests in compliance with regulatory standards. This role ensures product quality, laboratory accuracy, and adherence to company and industry specifications. The Chemist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing, research, and quality assurance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
-Ensure compliance with FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, and GMP/GLP standards.
-Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, titrators, balances).
-Prepare and standardize reagents and reference solutions according to SOPs.
-Review and interpret analytical data to identify trends, deviations, or out-of-specification (OOS) results.
-Document results accurately in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems (e.g., LIMS, Empower).
-Participate in method validation, verification, and transfer activities.
-Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure investigations, CAPAs, and stability studies are completed on time.
-Support internal and external audits by providing technical data and documentation.
-Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness per environmental and occupational health standards.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry
-Must hold a valid Chemist License
-2–5 years of experience in an analytical, quality control, or R&D laboratory environment.
-Strong knowledge of GMP/GLP regulations and laboratory documentation practices.
