A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant in Fresno, CA, supporting an attorney focused on commercial real estate development, ownership, operations, and property management. This role is ideal for a polished, highly organized legal professional with strong commercial real estate transaction experience and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
The Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant will work in a professional, fast-paced legal environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness are essential. This position offers the opportunity to support complex commercial real estate matters involving retail and office properties, leases, purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, and development-related documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to an attorney handling commercial real estate development, leasing, ownership, and property management matters.
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and organize legal documents, including commercial leases, ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, amendments, assignments, estoppels, and related correspondence.
- Coordinate real estate transactions from contract through closing, including tracking deadlines, critical dates, signatures, and required documentation.
- Maintain confidential physical and electronic legal files with strong attention to organization, accuracy, and document control.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, brokers, lenders, title companies, attorneys, internal management, and other business contacts.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate closings, handle correspondence, and provide general administrative support for legal and real estate operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support commercial real estate legal transactions, including purchases, sales, leasing, and development-related matters.
- Prepare and manage commercial real estate legal documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Track transaction deadlines, closing requirements, calendars, and critical dates.
- Coordinate communication with attorneys, tenants, brokers, lenders, title companies, and internal stakeholders.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant.
- Substantial experience supporting commercial real estate transactions is required.
- Experience with commercial real estate purchases and sales, retail and office leasing, ground leases, related agreements, and entitlement processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong proofreading, document formatting, file management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional phone and email presence.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, priorities, and confidential matters simultaneously.
- Professional demeanor, sound judgment, reliability, discretion, and the ability to work independently in a demanding legal practice.
- Professional attire and appearance are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with in-house legal departments for real estate developers, property owners, or commercial property management organizations.
- Familiarity with commercial property management operations.
- Experience with document management systems and electronic filing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus.
