Legal Billing Specialist
Location: Downtown Orlando, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Work Environment: 100% In-Office
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Target range $55,000–$65,000 (flexible based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join a well-established law firm in Downtown Orlando. This is a direct-hire opportunity created due to a long-tenured team member retiring after 12 years, offering a stable role with well-defined processes and strong institutional knowledge.
The ideal candidate has prior law firm billing experience, strong attention to detail, and comfort handling billing, trust accounting support, and light bookkeeping responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and process client billing in accordance with firm and client guidelines
Generate and manage invoices, billing reports, and spreadsheet-based tracking
Assist with trust account balancing and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Perform light bookkeeping and billing-related accounting tasks
Open new client matters, including conflict checks and matter setup
Maintain accurate billing and client records
Collaborate with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve billing questions
Support additional accounting or administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
Prior legal billing experience required (law firm environment)
Strong proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel) and billing reports
Experience with trust accounting or willingness to learn
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in an office setting
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with legal billing or accounting software
Familiarity with law firm trust accounting rules
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
