About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team and support a busy group of attorneys within our construction defect and insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex administrative and litigation-related tasks in a fast-paced, paperless environment.
This temporary position is onsite at our Irvine office located at:
5 Corporate Park, Suite 280, Irvine, CA 92606.
Interviews will be conducted in person.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare a wide range of legal documents and correspondence, including motions, pleadings, and discovery
Coordinate and schedule depositions for parties and expert witnesses
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including maintaining timelines, deadlines, matrices, and chronologies
Manage and organize electronic documents within systems such as Worldox or iManage
Perform state and federal court e-filing
Provide comprehensive administrative support across a team of attorneys
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest level of professionalism
Must-Have Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of legal support experience in a professional law firm setting, supporting multiple attorneys
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Excel
Excellent grammar, accuracy, and typing skills
Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information appropriately
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of legal experience in a litigation environment
Direct experience in insurance defense or personal injury defense
Background working in construction defect litigation
Experience in a paperless work environment using document management systems
Professional, respectful demeanor and strong teamwork skills
