Job Summary

A mid-sized, AV-rated civil litigation firm in Orlando, FL is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a litigation support professional with strong defense-side experience who enjoys a structured, team-oriented law firm environment.

The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with e-filing, scheduling, calendaring, time entry, document preparation, and other litigation tasks. Key Responsibilities

- Support attorneys with civil litigation and insurance defense matters from case opening through trial preparation.
- Prepare, file, and serve pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and case-related deadlines.
- Handle e-filing, time entry, document organization, and other daily litigation support tasks.
- Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and internal team members.
- Assist with document production, discovery coordination, and trial preparation as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Full-time schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide litigation support for attorneys handling civil defense matters.
- Manage e-filing, scheduling, calendaring, time entry, and case deadlines.
- Prepare and organize legal documents, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence.
- Support document production, case organization, and trial preparation activities.

- 3 to 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
- Strong experience with Florida e-filing procedures.
- Defense-side litigation experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent typing, proofreading, grammar, and document formatting skills.
- Strong calendaring, scheduling, and deadline management abilities.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to prioritize assignments in a fast-paced legal environment.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting insurance defense or civil litigation attorneys.
- Experience with discovery coordination, document production, and trial preparation.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records, deposition summaries, exhibits, and case materials.
