Job Summary

A well-established law firm in Orlando, FL is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Bankruptcy Department on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal support professional who enjoys managing details, solving problems, and supporting attorneys in a fast-paced, professional legal environment.

The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support for bankruptcy-related matters, including document preparation, file organization, deadline tracking, client communication, and court-related scheduling. Bankruptcy experience is preferred, but the firm is open to candidates from other legal practice areas who bring strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys within the Bankruptcy Department.
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and related materials.
- Maintain case files, organize client documentation, and ensure information is accurate and accessible.
- Coordinate calendars, deadlines, court-related scheduling, and attorney follow-up tasks.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, attorneys, and other parties.
- Assist with gathering information, tracking deadlines, and supporting bankruptcy-related matters as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: Approximately $60,000 annually, flexible based on experience.
- Employment Type: Direct Hire.
- Location: 100% on site in Orlando, FL.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support attorneys in the Department with legal documents, correspondence, case files, and administrative needs.
- Coordinate calendars, deadlines, court-related scheduling, and client communication.
- Gather, organize, and maintain information and documentation for bankruptcy-related matters.
- Track priorities and assist with timely completion of legal support tasks.

- 3 to 5 years of legal assistant, legal secretary, or related legal support experience preferred.
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or legal services environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn new practice area procedures.
- Professional, proactive, and resourceful approach to supporting attorneys and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bankruptcy experience
- Experience supporting bankruptcy, litigation, commercial law, real estate, creditor rights, or related legal practice areas.
- Familiarity with court filings, legal deadlines, and case management processes.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced law firm environment.
