We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant – Litigation to join a dynamic, fast-paced law firm in Sarasota, FL. This is a fully in-office role (no remote or hybrid options), with flexibility in daily start and end times.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of Florida law firm experience, specifically in litigation, and a strong understanding of both Federal and State court procedures in Florida.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 annually

Position Overview
This role provides high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys while delivering exceptional client service. The Legal Assistant must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, draft, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and court filings
File pleadings in Florida State and Federal courts using appropriate e-filing systems
Calculate and track court deadlines in compliance with procedural rules
Schedule state court hearings in accordance with court requirements
Open new matters and assist with conflicts checks
Maintain and manage electronic and physical case files
Coordinate attorney calendars, client meetings, and court appearances
Assist with billing processes, including:
Entering narratives
Tracking billable time
Editing prebills
Managing billing deadlines
Delivering invoices (electronic and paper)
Track expenses and process reimbursements
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and communications
Provide professional client interaction via phone and email
Support firm initiatives and occasional business development event coordination
Qualifications
3–5 years of Florida law firm experience required
Litigation experience in both Federal and State courts
Experience supporting multiple attorneys
Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in legal technology and case management systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively
Work Environment
100% in-office position in Sarasota, FL
Flexible daily schedule (start/end times)
Professional, collaborative team environment
Mid-to-large firm experience preferred
