Job Title: Temporary Legal Assistant

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Compensation: $22 – $24 per hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Temporary Legal Assistant to provide essential support to attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment. This role involves managing administrative and legal tasks related to lawsuits, including document preparation, calendar management, evidence organization, and client communication.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials
• Maintain and organize case files, evidence, and trial exhibits
• Monitor court deadlines and manage litigation calendars
• Coordinate document production and prepare trial binders
• Serve as liaison between attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court personnel
• Conduct factual research and compile case-related information
• Assist with court filings and provide support during hearings and depositions
• Perform general administrative duties including contact list management and case tracking
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in civil litigation
• Basic understanding of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules
• Proficiency with legal software and office technology
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Language Requirements:
Ability to read and comprehend legal documents and correspondence in English
Capable of clear verbal communication in English
Physical Requirements:
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document handling
Ability to lift and transport files and boxes up to 20 lbs
Professional appearance and demeanor for public-facing interactions
Ability to reach and retrieve items from shelves of varying heights
Use of ladder and hand cart as needed
