Job Title: Lead HVAC Duct Fabricator
Location: Kansas City Metro Area
Pay: $30–$40/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire

Overview:
We’re partnering with a leading Kansas City HVAC contractor that specializes in custom ductwork fabrication and installation for commercial and industrial projects. They’re seeking an experienced Lead Duct Fabricator to oversee shop production, ensure quality standards, and guide a small team of fabricators. This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical expertise and ability to drive efficiency will directly impact project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day operations in the duct fabrication shop

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and SMACNA specifications

Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal for custom duct systems (galvanized, aluminum, stainless)

Operate fabrication equipment including shears, brakes, rolls, and plasma tables

Inspect materials and completed work for accuracy, fit, and finish

Train and mentor fabricators and apprentices on best practices and safety

Maintain workflow schedules to meet project deadlines

Enforce safety procedures and ensure OSHA compliance

Qualifications:

5+ years of HVAC duct fabrication experience (commercial or industrial preferred)

Proven leadership or team lead experience in a fabrication or sheet metal shop

Strong blueprint reading and layout skills

Skilled in operating standard fabrication tools and equipment

Knowledge of SMACNA standards and HVAC code requirements

Welding or fabrication certification a plus (MIG/TIG/spot)

OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
