Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Santa Ana, CA with a growing precision manufacturing team. This full-time role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who has strong fiber laser cutting experience, enjoys leading others, and takes pride in producing high-quality metal fabricated parts.
The Laser Operator will operate and program fiber laser equipment, support daily production flow, mentor team members, and help ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and program fiber laser machines, including Amada and Bystronic equipment, for precision metal fabrication.
- Lead and support laser operators by assigning daily workloads, monitoring production flow, and promoting teamwork.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, travelers, and technical drawings to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Load automatic feeders, prepare machines for production runs, and troubleshoot equipment or process issues.
- Monitor part quality, identify items requiring inspection, and support quality control requirements.
- Update production travelers and ERP system information accurately while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Full-time with overtime available.
- 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, plus overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM, plus overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Operate and program fiber laser cutting machines for production runs.
- Lead daily laser department activities and support team performance.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to verify production requirements.
- Monitor quality, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate ERP and traveler updates.
- 3+ years laser experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and programming Amada and/or Bystronic fiber laser machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team leadership skills.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, push up to 40 pounds, and carry up to 25 pounds for short distances.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive arm movements, kneel, squat, bend, and move throughout the workday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both high-volume and low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Prior experience in precision metal fabrication or welding-related manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of production quality standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement processes.
