Position: Junior Accounting Controller (Construction-Focused)

We’re partnering with a growing organization in the construction space that is looking to add a detail-driven and motivated Junior Accounting Controller to their team. This role offers strong visibility across operations and finance, working closely with project leaders and company executives.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financials while supporting project performance and overall business operations.
Responsibilities include:
Contributing to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations and reporting schedules
Supporting Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking and project financial reporting
Processing weekly payroll, including certified payroll reporting and related compliance items
Managing day-to-day accounting functions such as AP, AR, billing, and general ledger activity
Monitoring cash flow, bank activity, and liquidity to ensure financial stability
Assisting with cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial insights for leadership
Partnering with project teams to ensure accurate job costing and financial visibility
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
Maintaining and improving internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting accuracy
Preparing documentation for audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
Assisting with compliance reporting such as sales tax, 1099s, and retirement plan reporting
Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and introduce efficiencies within accounting processes
Collaborating cross-functionally to support accurate, timely financial information
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
2–5 years of relevant accounting experience (corporate, public accounting, or multi-entity environments)
Solid foundation in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Hands-on experience with AP/AR, payroll, and cash management
Exposure to budgeting, variance analysis, or intercompany accounting is a plus
Familiarity with job costing or project-based accounting (construction experience is highly valued)
Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks experience is helpful) and strong Excel skills
Strong analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Spanish language skills are a plus
