Job Summary

A growing organization in the banking and consumer lending industry is seeking a Junior Accountant for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Juan, PR. Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing financial transactions accurately, including verifying, sorting, calculating, posting, and recording accounting data.
- Assist with account reconciliations, including general and subsidiary bank accounts, by gathering, balancing, and reviewing financial information.
- Prepare invoices, bank deposits, financial reports, account status updates, and special reports for management review.
- Review accounting data and system records to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and support accurate ledger posting.
- Maintain accounting records in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable financial requirements.
- Protect confidential financial information through proper record retention, classification, database backups, and secure handling of sensitive data.

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $14.50 per hour.
- Location: San Juan, PR.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process accounts, payments, deposits, invoices, and daily financial transactions.
- Support account reconciliations, ledger accuracy, and financial reporting.
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Research discrepancies and assist with resolution of client service or transaction issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience using spreadsheets and accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service mindset with problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
- Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in banking, consumer lending, financial services, or a similar regulated environment.
- Familiarity with account reconciliation, ledger review, invoice processing, and payment processing.
- Ability to support special projects, financial reports, and management inquiries as needed.
