Job Summary

A growing technology investment and management firm in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Investment Associate to support active investing in early-stage and growth-stage biomedical, biotechnology, and life science companies. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in investment operations, legal documentation, contract management, venture capital support, technology transfer, licensing, or intellectual property-related work.

The Investment Associate will work closely with investment professionals, portfolio companies, legal counsel, licensees, and internal leadership throughout the investment lifecycle, including due diligence, transaction support, portfolio monitoring, compliance tracking, and exit-related activities. Key Responsibilities

- Draft, coordinate, and manage standard corporate agreements and related documents, including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements, research agreements, storage agreements, service agreements, and amendments.
- Maintain compliance tracking for investments, licenses, and contractual obligations while coordinating with investment managers and legal counsel to ensure timely reporting and follow-up.
- Support due diligence and strategic planning by conducting research on companies, technologies, patents, filings, markets, and investment opportunities.
- Maintain and safeguard investment, project, legal, and portfolio company files in both print and electronic formats.
- Manage information resources, including databases, subscriptions, articles, reports, government filings, patents, and related research materials.
- Assist with project coordination, portfolio monitoring, correspondence, data compilation, document preparation, and signature routing.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support investment operations, transaction documentation, compliance tracking, and portfolio company administration.
- Conduct due diligence research and manage information resources for active and prospective investments.
- Coordinate agreements, legal documents, licensing materials, and investment-related records.
- Assist with project management, reporting, correspondence, and internal team coordination.

- Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- 6 to 10 years of professional experience is ideal for this level of responsibility.
- Experience in investment, finance, legal support, venture capital, technology transfer, contract management, paralegal support, investment transactions, licensing, intellectual property, or contract disputes is highly relevant.
- Strong document management, records management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and online research tools, including Google and AI-based platforms.
- Ability to work independently with initiative, discretion, sound judgment, and a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and time management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage calendars, meetings, administrative coordination, and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Genuine interest in venture capital, innovation, early-stage investing, biotechnology, and life science technologies.
- Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience preparing, reviewing, or editing legal documents, contracts, confidentiality agreements, licensing agreements, or investment-related agreements.
- Experience in a startup, venture capital, technology investment, biotechnology, life sciences, university research, or technology transfer environment.
- Familiarity with Carta, Westlaw, Derwent, DocuSign, CRM systems, or similar research, legal, investment, or workflow platforms.
- Exposure to patent research, government filings, intellectual property documentation, license compliance, or biomedical technology commercialization.
