Job Summary

We are seeking an Inventory & Purchasing Specialist in Dublin, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented operations professional with experience supporting inventory control, purchasing, vendor coordination, and production planning activities in a manufacturing or production environment.

The Inventory & Purchasing Specialist will play an important role in keeping materials available, purchasing activity organized, and inventory records accurate. This opportunity offers a collaborative, team-focused work environment where communication, accountability, and proactive problem solving are valued.
Must be OK with making occasional deliveries to local vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Order fulfillment (Using Sage System and through vendor portals)
- Electrical Construction Industry background preferred
- Customer Submittals
- Maintaining Inventory (entering requisitions in Sage System, doing Physical Counts)
- Pulling Permits/Scheduling Finals with Cities/Counties
- Vehicle Maintenance (follow up on truck maintenance, recalls, inventory, repairs etc)
- Warehouse safety inspections and maintaining small tool inventory
- Printing Production (Using printing machine for construction signs)
- Maintaining Certifications (Review and maintain roster of certification for electricians, assisting with renewals) 
- Create, track, and follow up on purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, order status, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with production, operations, warehouse, and accounting teams to support material flow and resolve discrepancies.
- Review inventory data, usage trends, and stock levels to help prevent shortages, overstock, and production delays.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory adjustments, documentation, and process improvements related to purchasing and inventory control.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour.
- Location: Dublin, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Must be able to drive company car for local deliveries to local vendors.
- Manage inventory control activities to support production and operational needs.
- Coordinate purchasing, purchase orders, vendor follow-up, and material availability.
- Maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and related operational records.
- Support cross-functional communication between purchasing, production, warehouse, and operations teams.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory, purchasing, materials coordination, production planning, or a related operations role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, purchasing processes, vendor communication, and order tracking.
- Ability to review stock levels, identify material needs, and support timely replenishment.
- Proficiency with inventory systems, purchasing software, ERP systems, or related business applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work well with vendors, internal teams, and leadership.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and support deadlines in a production or operations environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or operations planning environment.
- Familiarity with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, purchasing reports, and materials planning.
- Experience supporting vendor performance, lead time tracking, and cost-conscious purchasing decisions.
- Intermediate spreadsheet skills for tracking, reporting, and analyzing inventory or purchasing data.
