OA Reference: Inventory Planning Supervisor
We are looking for an Inventory Planning Supervisor for one of the most recognized auto-parts distributors in the U.S.. The right candidate is someone who enjoys owning inventory planning in a global, import-driven supply chain, and is comfortable managing long lead times, complexity, and competing priorities.
This role is well-suited for a planner who wants real ownership, analytical depth, and close collaboration with purchasing, suppliers, and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and managing inventory for imported products sourced from China, Japan, India, and Europe
- Analyzing inventory levels, demand forecasts, fill rates, and inventory turns
- Tracking inbound shipments with ocean lead times of up to 6 months
- Working directly with suppliers to understand delays and improve delivery timelines
- Supporting purchasing and replenishment decisions through data-driven analysis
- Partnering closely with warehouse operations on inbound and outbound flow, picking, packing, and shipping, inventory accuracy and cycle counts.
- Identifying inventory risks early and proactively planning to avoid stockouts
- Building and maintaining Excel-based planning tools and reports
Qualifications:
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical skills
- Experience in inventory planning, supply chain planning, or demand planning
- Background in purchasing or supplier management
- Experience working with imported products and long international lead times
- Ability to balance service levels, inventory health, and operational realities
