Job Summary
A growing food and beverage distribution company in Kent, WA is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager - Food & Beverage for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on inventory leader who understands warehouse operations, food safety requirements, cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced distribution environment.
The Inventory Manager will play a key role in improving inventory control, reducing variances, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring product availability across warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inventory control activities, including inventory accuracy, transaction reporting, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, shrink, damaged goods, obsolete inventory, and product variances.
- Partner with warehouse leadership to support proper receiving, storage, product rotation, shipping, FIFO, FEFO, lot tracking, and shelf-life requirements.
- Develop inventory reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify trends, monitor inventory levels, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead, train, and develop inventory control team members and warehouse personnel on inventory procedures, controls, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead inventory management programs across warehouse and distribution operations.
- Manage cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation, variance research, and inventory reporting.
- Improve inventory control processes, warehouse accuracy, product flow, and accountability.
- Support compliance with FIFO, FEFO, lot tracking, shelf-life management, and food safety requirements.
- 5+ years of inventory management experience in food and beverage distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes, cycle counting, reconciliation, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using WMS and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience creating inventory reports, analyzing trends, and tracking KPIs.
- Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, lot tracking, product shelf-life controls, and food safety requirements.
- Proven leadership experience in a distribution, production, or warehouse environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food and beverage distribution or perishable product environments.
- Background supporting audits, product recalls, damaged goods processes, and obsolete inventory controls.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, shrink reduction, waste reduction, and warehouse efficiency.
- Familiarity with demand planning support, service level monitoring, and inventory availability analysis.
