Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Newbury Park, CA. This is a hands-on warehouse inventory leadership role supporting a high-volume clothing and textile operation with more than 1 million units across multiple warehouse locations.

The Inventory Manager will take full ownership of inventory accuracy, inventory flow, cycle counts, physical counts, warehouse location discipline, movement control, and inventory investigations. This is an excellent opportunity for a warehouse inventory leader who enjoys being on the floor, solving operational issues at the root cause, training teams, and building strong inventory control standards across a fast-moving distribution environment.

This role is ideal for someone who brings strong leadership, urgency, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset. The environment requires close partnership with warehouse leadership, operations teams, picking, packing, replenishment, returns, transfers, and other departments to ensure inventory processes are followed consistently. Candidates who thrive in active warehouse settings, enjoy improving processes, and want to make a measurable impact on inventory accuracy will find this opportunity highly rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

- Own inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse locations, including active pick, reserve, bulk, overflow, transfer, and non-pickable inventory areas.
- Lead cycle counts, physical counts, location audits, movement audits, inventory investigations, and reconciliation efforts.
- Review inventory movement history to confirm system transactions match the physical flow of inventory throughout the warehouse operation.
- Investigate discrepancies, shortages, overages, incorrect locations, missing units, unexplained adjustments, and repeat process failures.
- Train, lead, and hold the inventory team accountable for inventory procedures, location control, count accuracy, system transactions, and escalation standards.
- Partner with warehouse leadership to improve inventory placement, reduce unnecessary touches, improve pick flow, and correct root causes that impact accuracy.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Location: Newbury Park, CA.
- Work Environment: Warehouse-based leadership role working between three locations in Newbury Park.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Investigate inventory discrepancies, movement errors, location issues, shortages, overages, and process breakdowns.
- Train warehouse teams and enforce inventory standards across picking, packing, replenishment, returns, transfers, and related departments.

- 3 to 5 years of inventory management experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, apparel, consumer goods, e-commerce, wholesale, retail distribution, or high-SKU environment.
- Strong understanding of pick and pack operations, replenishment, storage, warehouse movement, location control, inventory flow, and inventory protection.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple warehouses or large warehouse operations.
- Strong WMS, Excel, reporting, and inventory analysis skills.

- Ability to identify inventory process failures directly on the warehouse floor and correct issues at the root cause.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train staff, enforce procedures, challenge poor processes, and create accountability across departments.
- Excellent communication, follow-up, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to walk warehouse floors, inspect locations, validate counts, review movement activity, and ensure the system reflects physical inventory reality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in apparel, clothing, textile, fashion, or high-SKU consumer goods warehouse operations.
- Experience improving warehouse layout, item placement, pick flow, replenishment strategy, and inventory movement efficiency.
- Background supporting inventory control in multi-facility distribution environments with active transfers, returns, storage, and fulfillment activity.
