We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator for a temporary contract opportunity in Chattanooga, TN. This role is ideal for someone with experience in inventory, materials, warehouse, purchasing, or production operations who enjoys keeping parts, materials, and purchasing activity running smoothly.
As an Inventory Coordinator, you will support site inventory operations, coordinate vendor deliveries, process transactions in SAP, and help maintain accurate records for production chemicals, raw materials, technical materials, and parts. This position offers a steady weekday schedule, hands-on operational responsibility, and the opportunity to work with internal teams, vendors, and site leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing and operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory transactions in SAP, including requisitions, receiving, goods issues, inventory tracking, and reporting.
- Order production chemicals, raw materials, technical materials, and parts while coordinating deliveries with vendors.
- Perform monthly cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records, documentation, and housekeeping standards.
- Monitor vendor inventory, follow up on delays or issues, and communicate updates to internal teams.
- Process service entries, direct-pay invoices, accounting codes, accounts payable requests, and open goods receipt issues.
- Support purchasing, materials, and inventory activities to help ensure smooth site operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $20 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Job type: Temporary contract.
- Location: Chattanooga, TN.
- Manage site inventory, parts, materials, and purchasing activities.
- Process SAP transactions for requisitions, receipts, goods issues, inventory updates, and reporting.
- Coordinate vendor deliveries and resolve purchasing or inventory issues.
- Support cycle counts, documentation, and accurate inventory control practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 to 3 years of work experience preferred in inventory, materials, warehouse, purchasing, production operations, or a related environment.
- Proficiency with computers and standard software applications.
- Basic math skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with internal teams, vendors, and external contacts in a professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of plant equipment preferred for success in this environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management in a manufacturing, warehouse, materials, or production operations setting.
- SAP experience, especially with inventory, purchasing, MRO, stores transactions, goods receipts, goods issues, and reporting.
- Experience processing service entries, direct-pay invoices, accounting codes, or accounts payable follow-up.
- Familiarity with production chemicals, raw materials, technical materials, or parts ordering.
