Inventory Control Specialist – Returns Processing
Location: Olathe, KS (Onsite)
Pay: $18 to $20 per hour (Direct Hire)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
We’re hiring a full-time Inventory Control Specialist to support and strengthen our clients' returns processing operations. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in inventory control, returns handling, and critical thinking who’s ready to hit the ground running. You’ll play a hands-on role in reviewing, troubleshooting, and processing returned products while maintaining accurate inventory system records.
About the Role:
You’ll be part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where accuracy, accountability, and communication are key. This role is central to keeping inventory clean and our customers satisfied, so attention to detail and follow-through matter.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and inspect returned products for damage, defects, or policy eligibility
• Accurately log return data and update inventory in real time
• Use Excel and Outlook daily to track, communicate, and report on return trends
• Investigate discrepancies and work cross-functionally with warehouse, customer service, and purchasing teams to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, organized returns area and follow company SOPs
• Assist with physical inventory, audits, and cycle counts as needed
• Provide suggestions to improve return processes or reduce recurring product issues
What We're Looking For:
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience in inventory, logistics, or returns processing
• Comfortable using Excel and Outlook for daily tasks and reporting
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Solid communication skills and a strong sense of accountability
Bonus If You Have:
• Experience working with consumer products, electronics, or light industrial inventory
• Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)
• Background in quality control or warehouse returns
