Interim Controller - Project, with possible future opportunities to stay on
Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
Pay: Open / competitive
We are seeking a highly experienced Controller-level professional to step in and structure and stabilize a billing and accounting department that is currently disorganized and supported by a third-party accounting firm. This is a hands-on, in-house role with high visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, clean up, and restructure the billing and accounting functions
Review and organize QuickBooks Online files and financial processes
Own high-level reporting and ensure accurate, timely financials
Oversee billing, payroll, and accounting workflows (Paycor experience a plus)
Act as a project manager to implement structure, controls, and documentation
Train and support AP employee
Partner with leadership and external auditors as needed
Recommend and help implement system or process improvements (open to changing systems)
Ideal Profile:
Senior Accountant or Controller-level background
QuickBooks Online experience
Non Profit exposure preferred but not required
CPA preferred
Audit experience a plus
Extremely organized, decisive, and comfortable walking into a “mess”
Project-oriented mindset with the ability to execute quickly
