Job Summary

A growing logistics and transportation team in City of Industrys, CA is seeking an Import/Export Operations professional for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented bilingual Mandarin/English candidate who enjoys coordinating shipments, communicating with carriers and overseas agents, and keeping international freight moving accurately and on time.

This Import/Export Operations position offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in import administration, customs documentation, freight coordination, and customer communication. Candidates can expect a collaborative team environment with supportive leadership, clear daily responsibilities, and the opportunity to develop long-term skills within the logistics and international transportation field.

Key Responsibilities

- Enter shipment, freight, customs, and billing information accurately into internal systems.
- Follow up with carriers, rail companies, CFS locations, customs brokers, overseas agents, and importers regarding shipment status.
- Prepare freight transportation invoices and verify related documentation for accuracy.
- Coordinate customs documentation and work with house customs brokers to support timely clearance of goods.
- Arrange trucking transportation based on customer requests and shipment requirements.
- Communicate shipment updates professionally to internal teams, customers, and logistics partners.

Compensation and Benefits

- $20 to $24 per hour.
- Temp-to-hire opportunity.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate import shipments from documentation review through customs clearance support.
- Follow up with carriers and logistics partners to monitor shipment movement and resolve status updates.
- Prepare invoices and support freight transportation billing processes.
- Arrange trucking transportation and communicate with customers and external partners.

- Bilingual in Mandarin and English required.
- 1 to 2 years of logistics, import/export, freight forwarding, or related administrative experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to review shipment documents with accuracy.
- Must be legally authorized to work.
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Reliable, punctual, efficient, and able to work well in a team environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, carriers, brokers, and overseas agents.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior import operations experience.
- Experience working with customs brokers, carriers, CFS facilities, trucking companies, or freight forwarders.
- Familiarity with freight documentation, shipment tracking, customs clearance processes, or transportation invoicing.
