We're seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement/Purchasing Specialist to join our team ASAP, supporting residential, commercial, renovation, and remodeling construction projects. This is a critical role responsible for managing materials procurement, vendor negotiations, and financial tracking to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient execution of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
• Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to construction project needs.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and stakeholders to determine material, equipment, and service requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing, quality assurance, and timely delivery.
• Maintain active communication with internal teams to align procurement schedules with project timelines.
• Monitor material and equipment inventory; coordinate timely ordering to prevent delays.
• Keep organized and detailed records of procurement processes, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
Financial Management & Reporting
• Accurately process invoices, receipts, and payments for materials, labor, and subcontracted services.
• Track and manage accounts payable and receivable related to procurement activities.
• Maintain both digital and physical records of all financial transactions tied to procurement and project spending.
• Prepare and deliver regular procurement and financial reports to senior management.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment processing.
• Provide financial data and analysis to support project evaluations and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within the construction industry (residential, commercial, or renovation/remodeling).
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with construction materials, vendor relations, and budgeting.
• Proficient in managing documentation both digitally and physically.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
