NATURE OF THE POSITION

Provide technical support in hardware and software to internal and external clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

Communicate with the client and/or staff who generate the call or service ticket to identify and diagnose software issues and determine whether the service will be performed remotely or on-site.

Answer phone calls from clients and internal staff to provide guidance and timely support.

Provide technical support (troubleshooting) according to the identified problem.

Establish effective communication with technical staff from other companies to consult about situations identified while providing technical support to clients.

Perform software and hardware installations for internal and external clients within the defined timeframe.

Place upgrade and update modules in the corresponding client files to maintain optimal system performance.

Create user accounts and passwords for the use of program modules.

Perform interface installations and carry out tests for data exchange between the analyzer and the system.

Stay up to date on the latest technological advances and provide recommendations for process improvements within the department.

Prepare and deliver, on a daily basis or as assigned, a detailed report of the tasks performed during the day or designated period.

Prepare, document, and deliver, as assigned, user manuals, processes, and/or procedures for the use of new technologies.

Provide technical support in the handling, resolution, and documentation of problems, inquiries, and other matters related to technology and information systems.

Establish and maintain responsible, honest, timely, professional, and courteous communication with supervisors, coworkers within and outside the department, clients, consultants, contractors, and any other person with whom they interact while providing services.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION

Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, plus the experience indicated in the following section; or

Bachelor’s Degree, plus the experience indicated in the following section.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Information Technology Technician, Information Systems Technician, or in similar functions.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Information Technology Technician, Information Systems Technician, or in similar functions.
