Assist and responsibly monitor computer systems and provide support for computerized systems.
Support with daily SHIMS reports (training will be provided).
Assist in the maintenance and updating of the SHIMS database.
Assist with performing backups for all systems.
Control the storage and safeguarding of data in external locations (“off-site disaster recovery plan”).
Serve as a communication liaison between telephone service providers, technical support.
Act as a liaison between Puerto Rico and Caribbean IT departments for computer and database functions.
Assist in the documentation and creation of controls for all systems, applications, equipment, and configurations, including but not limited to warranties and support.
Support staff training in both systems and necessary applications.
Maintain continuous and progressive study of current systems and procedures to achieve and sustain optimal performance of computers and systems (PCs/Laptops, as well as SHIMS).
Assist in conducting audits of computer systems and PCs as required.
Assist in the creation and implementation of new systems and applications.
Collaborate with IT needs during the annual inventory process.
Perform any other function related to the position as requested by staff.
Associate Degree in Data Processing/Business Analysis.
Two to three (2–3) years of experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred certifications: A+, Network+, or Microsoft.
Knowledge of UNIX (IBM AIX) and PC operating systems, UNIVERSE platform, and application software such as SHIMS; software packages including Windows Server, Active Directory, Procomm Plus, Accuterm, DOS, Windows 7, Windows 10, TeamViewer.
Knowledge in hardware configuration, maintenance, and diagnostics for printers, terminals, and modems.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with printers, computers, servers, terminals, and modems.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with computer equipment and software applications across multiple environments.
Ability to work under pressure and within established timeframes.
