Job Summary

We are seeking an Improvement Lead for a direct hire opportunity in Cayey, PR. This role is ideal for a bilingual manufacturing professional who enjoys leading teams, improving daily operations, and driving performance in a regulated production environment.

The Improvement Lead will provide shift leadership within tobacco manufacturing operations, ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with ISO standards, OSHA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SOPs, and work instructions. This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured, team-oriented environment where leadership, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily shift manufacturing activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of production plans.
- Manage team performance by setting expectations, providing feedback, coaching employees, and addressing performance gaps.
- Facilitate Daily Direction Setting meetings, follow up on priorities, and drive action completion across the production team.
- Monitor production results against plan, including OEE, volume, schedule attainment, quality performance, and delivery targets.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, OSHA regulations, GMP requirements, SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and Continuous Improvement teams to resolve issues, support investigations, and improve performance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead shift-based production operations in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Execute Daily Direction Setting meetings and follow up on daily production priorities.
- Monitor OEE, production volume, schedule attainment, safety, and quality performance.
- Support team training, onboarding, skill matrix development, and continuous improvement activities.

- High School Diploma or Associate Degree required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish required.
- 2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Prior team lead, shift lead, or production leadership experience preferred.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, OSHA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Experience using or supporting manufacturing tools such as Daily Direction Setting, MES, skill matrix tools, and safety or quality reporting systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, shift-based production environment.
- Availability to take training outside Puerto Rico.
