A government organization in Valley Center is hiring for an Employee Relations HR Coordinator!

Provides provide full transactional and technical HR support in one or more of the following functional areas: benefits, compensation, classification, employee relations, employment, recruitment, leave administration, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and training. Incumbents provide customer support and review and process paperwork and electronic forms according to established procedures and timeliness standards for the HR Director’s approval.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, including health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, department meetings, employee recognition programs/events, and Committee events as coordinated through the Member Services Department.
Process the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notices of status changes to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
Manage and coordinate employee Leave of Absence requests, interpret policies, review medical certifications, track data, and coordinate return-to-work processes; elevate requests to the HR Director for final approval.
Calculate and assess leave durations, ensure accuracy and compliance, coordinate employee returns, collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth transitions back to work, and prepare and maintain detailed reports on leave activity.
Support special projects and events related to Human Resources and Services functions and operate under immediate supervision.
Responsible for filing all documents in personnel files, including member service files.
Qualifications:
An associate degree in a related field is required.
3+ years of job-related experience is required, including at least two 2 years in Human Resources.
A background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, challenging, and sensitive situations.
Ability to research and analyze various types of data and information.
