Provides assistance in a confidential manner to the Labor Relations/Human Resources Department regarding
pension, 401(k), and health & welfare plans; and other labor relations and human resource related duties in a
union environment at the administrative and professional level. This includes assisting Director of Labor
Relations and Human Resources with development and implementation of labor relations policies, strategies,
and decisions involving labor negotiations, union contract compliance, grievances, and arbitrations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist the Director, Labor Relations/Human Resources, and other managers in handling employee and labor
• relations responsibilities in a confidential manner.
• In a confidential manner, independently administer and manage union, non-union & multi-state benefits
• such as union pensions, 401(k), and other health & welfare benefits.
• Assist Director of Labor Relations/Human Resources in a confidential manner with labor relations,
• grievances, attendance, discipline, terminations, training and staff development, as needed.
• Investigate labor relations issues and other personnel issues including handling complaints from unionized
• employees.
• Maintain positive working relationship with Union officials and adhere to terms of labor contract by
• monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
• Resolve claims issues for union and management benefit plans.
• Reconcile union benefits billing and reporting of hours and payments.
• Administer and interpret leaves policies for union employees in accordance to collective bargain agreement
• in a confidential manner and ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
• Reconcile and administer leave benefits for all leaves including WC leaves.
• Analyze computer-produced downloads, payments and reports for accuracy and compliance to assist Labor
• Relations/Human Resources department in a confidential manner as reports are needed for audits and union
• contract negotiations.
• Maintain HRIS database and modify system requirements as needed.
• Create reports and other statistical data to assist with union contract compliance, labor negotiations,
• grievances, arbitrations, and other labor relations issues.
• Maintain confidential documentation/files of benefits plan participants, personnel transactions, new hires,
• promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
• Develop and implement onboarding process including relocation of new hires and assisting in Immigration
• process for sponsored employees.
• Research and resolve employee leaves and health & welfare benefit related questions and problems as it
• relates to union contracts and/or State and Federal laws.
• File all State and Federal mandated reports such as Form 5500, midyear and year-end HCE, ADP & ACP
• testing, PCORI fees, and CMS.
• Assist with confidential internal audits, as well as audits of vendor records.
• Respond to unemployment claims, state disability claims, and employment verifications.
• Interview, screen, and recruit union job applicants and Management candidates.
• Administers and track union job postings.
• Provide customer service to all levels of the organization.
• Cross-train and perform other work-related duties as assigned, including but not limited to, assisting in a
• confidential manner with payroll related functions.
