Growing Entertainment company is looking to hire a Human Resources Generalist - Part Time (Tues/Wed/Thurs) in office 9:30am - 5:30pm.
Reporting to the Controller and works closely with the Executive Director and Associate Director
Qualifications & Skills
•Prior experience as an HR generalist
•Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus (Spanish, French, or German)
•Fostering a positive, inclusive, and efficient workplace
•Work with multiple personalities, balancing empathy with procedures
•Organizational skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
•Simplify complex processes and create clear, concise documentation
•Keeping management informed of projects, successes, and issues
Computer Skills
•Proficiency with Google Suite and other common digital tools
Overall Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
Priorities of Initial Responsibilities
•Lead the creation and documentation of key processes
•Create Standard Operating Processes for each staff person
•Formalize/Standardize roles and responsibilities for each role
•Set salary ranges based on skills sets, responsibilities
•Implement performance management strategies
•Facilitate any employee issues created by the office move in October– help organize new office location
•Document employee vacation/sick time/OOO
•Develop an updated remote working policy with leadership
Recruitment & Onboarding support
•Develop and post job descriptions for new staff
•Manage the hiring process, including screening, interviewing, and background checks
•Facilitate onboarding and training for new employees, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission.
Employee Relations & Culture
•Serve as the main point of contact for employee concerns and workplace issues
•Foster a positive work culture that aligns with the organization’s values and strategic plan
•Develop and implement employee recognition programs and morale-boosting initiatives
Sustainability/Staffing Roles:
•Document roles and responsibilities/SOPs for each staff person
•Formalize/Standardize responsibilities for each role
•Set salary ranges based on skills sets, responsibilities for each position
Performance Management
•Develop and oversee performance evaluations and feedback processes
•Address performance issues and assist in conflict resolution
•Support Generalists in goal setting and employee development
Compensation & Benefits
•Become familiar with current payroll and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and PTO
•Research cost-effective alternatives for benefits
•Ensure equitable and competitive compensation ranges and work expectations for each role
•Work with controller on handling bi-weekly payroll
•Oversee record-keeping and HR documentation (I-9s, W-4s, contracts, etc.)
If requested by Controller, Provide Support To:
•Ensure compliance with OSHA and workplace safety regulations
•Manage workers’ compensation claims and workplace injury protocols
•Coordinate annual required compliance training (e.g., harassment, workplace safety, DEI)
•Support leadership in identifying growth opportunities for employees
•Develop emergency plans for workplace incidents
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA)
•Maintain and update the employee handbook with policies on leave, harassment, DEI, etc.
