Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily functions of the HR department in a healthcare setting, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, training, and benefits administration. This role ensures HR operations align with both healthcare regulations and organizational goals to support a safe, compliant, and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Staffing:
Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and job requirements.
Post job openings, screen resumes, and coordinate interviews.
Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes for new hires, including clinical staff.
Employee Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for staff inquiries and concerns.
Mediate workplace conflicts and support employee engagement initiatives.
Conduct exit interviews and assist with offboarding procedures.
Compliance & Records:
Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission standards).
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including licensure and credentialing documentation.
Performance Management:
Support managers with performance reviews, documentation, and improvement plans.
Track and report on employee metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and disciplinary actions.
Benefits Administration:
Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and claims.
Coordinate open enrollment and respond to benefits-related questions.
Training & Development:
Coordinate mandatory training sessions (e.g., compliance, safety, CPR).
Maintain records of continuing education and certification compliance.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Experience:
2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare setting (e.g., hospital, clinic, long-term care facility).
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and HRIS systems is preferred.
Certifications:
PHR, SHRM-CP, or CHHR (Certified in Healthcare Human Resources) preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in a healthcare environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
