We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HR Generalist to join our growing team and play a vital role in supporting our expanding field employees and office staff. In this impactful role, you will:
Oversee and manage the complete onboarding process for all new team members.
Champion OSHA and safety compliance across the entire organization.
Apply your understanding of payroll wage requirements to ensure accurate compensation.
Coordinate and schedule essential safety training programs for up to 18 foremen.
Leverage your construction industry expertise to provide effective HR support to field operations.
Assist in navigating potential PAGA lawsuits and ensure strict adherence to all labor laws.
Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with the company's legal counsel.
Provide critical support to the payroll function, including utilizing the Exaktime app for field timekeeping and accurate data input.
Collaborate closely with foremen on job costing management initiatives.
Effectively address employee grievances and provide comprehensive and supportive solutions.
Utilize your experience in workers' compensation, including the ability to determine when clinic visits and OSHA reporting are necessary.
Support a variety of training initiatives, including forklift operation, safety protocols, DOT regulations, and E-Verify procedures.
Play a key role in preparing the company for potential public works projects, including a thorough understanding of prevailing wage and union requirements.
Contribute significantly to a positive and inclusive company culture through your strong knowledge of labor law, compliance, and excellent communication skills.
Work collaboratively with our PEO (Workforce Business Systems out of Florida) in processing injury claims and managing workers' compensation matters.
What you'll bring to the table:
Fluency in both Spanish and English (required).
Demonstrated familiarity and understanding of the construction industry.
Proven experience in managing workers' compensation cases and a comprehensive understanding of related regulations.
A solid understanding of all aspects of labor law and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, including field foremen.
Experience in effectively handling employee grievances and providing supportive resolutions.
The ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies, such as timekeeping applications.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to your work.
Bonus points if you have:
Prior experience working in prevailing wage and union environments.
Familiarity with job costing processes.
