Job Title: Human Resources Manager/Director

Position Summary:
Our law firm is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager/Director to lead HR functions and support our leadership team in driving organizational success. This is a hands-on role combining HR strategy, talent management, employee relations, compliance, and business operations to ensure alignment with firm-wide goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in professional services HR (law firm experience is not required) and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business and operational objectives.
Collaborate with leadership and managers to assess and address staffing needs.
Talent Management:
Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance management processes.
Employee Relations & Culture:
Build and nurture a positive and high-performance culture through employee engagement programs.
Act as a trusted advisor for managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance issues, and HR policies.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance:
Manage compensation and yearly salary reviews.
Oversee benefits administration and vendor relationships to ensure competitive offerings.
Work closely with the benefits broker on open enrollment, census information, and timely enrollments.
Full cycle administration of the 401(k) plan: eligibility, enrollment, transactions, compliance, 5500 filing, annual audit.
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and safety regulations.
Reconcile all vendor invoices monthly and prepare annual benefit guides.
Operations Partnership:
Work with leadership to improve workflow, efficiency, and cross-departmental communication.
Manage multiple commercial insurance policies and renewals for multiple properties.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting.
Provide office management support.
HRIS/Payroll:
Partner with the payroll specialist to ensure timely and accurate semi-monthly payroll processing.
Manage the HRIS system for HR, payroll, and compensation data.
Responsible for annual ACA reporting, EEOC filings, and CMS requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Experience in professional services (law firm experience not required).
In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
