We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner for a direct hire opportunity in Fresno, CA, supporting a construction organization focused on industrial facilities and infrastructure. This HR Business Partner role is ideal for a hands-on, business-minded HR professional who is confident advising leaders, resolving complex employee relations matters, and supporting teams across multiple subsidiaries and locations.
This position offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted HR advisor in a stable, operationally driven environment where strong leadership partnership, practical problem solving, and responsive HR support are highly valued. Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive employee relations and labor relations support to managers, employees, and subsidiary leadership across multiple business units.
- Conduct and support workplace investigations, performance improvement plans, corrective actions, separations, grievance documentation, and related HR processes.
- Advise leaders on HR policies, California employment law, federal compliance requirements, workforce trends, and practical business-focused solutions.
- Support organizational changes, workforce planning initiatives, onboarding coordination, training programs, and compliance training across multiple locations.
- Administer and utilize HRIS, LMS, Excel, and reporting tools to maintain accurate records, track training completion, and analyze workforce data.
- Draft HR communications, present HR topics to leadership groups, and collaborate with HR specialists in benefits, recruiting, payroll, and operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $100,000 per year.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including experience in a generalist or broad HR role.
- Demonstrated HR business partner experience supporting business leaders directly, not solely HR operations.
- Strong employee relations and labor relations experience, including investigations, performance management, separations, and grievances.
- Working knowledge of federal and California employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and FLSA.
- Experience supporting multiple locations, multiple entities, or subsidiary-based organizations strongly preferred.
- Experience coordinating and facilitating training programs, compliance training, harassment prevention training, and new hire training.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, LMS platforms, Excel, reporting tools, and employee record maintenance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear HR communications independently.
- Ability to present HR information to small and mid-size leadership groups.
- Sound judgment, strong follow-through, and the ability to determine when to resolve issues independently versus escalate.
- Valid California Driver’s License required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or MBA.
- Experience working within a structured HR team alongside specialists in areas such as benefits, recruiting, payroll, and HR operations.
- Multi-site or multi-entity HR experience within construction, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or another operationally complex environment.
- Experience building trust with business leaders and providing practical HR guidance in environments where leaders may be skeptical of HR.
- Ability to identify employee relations trends, workforce risks, and opportunities, then provide proactive recommendations to leadership.
