Our client is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Human Resources Generalist to provide strategic direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of HR functions across three business segments in California. This dynamic role is responsible for overseeing a broad range of HR disciplines while aligning with company values, goals, and objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of California and federal employment law, extensive HR leadership experience, and a passion for fostering a strong, inclusive workplace culture.

This position requires flexibility, with availability to work onsite and respond to needs outside of regular business hours, including nights and weekends, as the company operates 24/7.

Key Responsibilities
The Human Resources Generalist will oversee activities in the following functional areas:
Manage all HR functions across the company, including supervising support staff.
Champion a diverse, inclusive, and value-driven company culture.
Direct recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management processes.
Administer employee benefits in coordination with the Controller.
Ensure compliance with all federal and California labor laws (FEHA, CFRA, PAGA, Wage & Hour, Title VII, EEO, FMLA, ADA, ACA, OSHA, etc.).
Receive, process, and resolve associate questions, concerns, and complaints.
Lead and conduct internal investigations and partner with legal counsel as needed.
Oversee unemployment, disability, and workers’ compensation claims.
Develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, manuals, and handbooks.
Manage HRIS and coordinate with payroll and accounting to ensure compliance.
Support safety programs and company-wide compliance initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience supporting 300+ employees, preferably in the food & beverage or hospitality industry.
Expert-level knowledge of California employment law and federal labor regulations.
Proven experience with unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, investigations, benefits programs, and HR compliance.
Strong background in updating and implementing HR processes and procedures.
Experience handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
