Highway Construction Scheduler
Location: Norwalk, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $176,800 – $208,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility
Our client is a construction advisory and capital program management firm supporting large-scale infrastructure programs across transportation, transit, aviation, and public works. Acting as an owner’s representative, the firm partners with public agencies to provide planning, oversight, and delivery support on complex capital projects ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of dollars.
This role supports a major Southern California transportation program and offers long-term continuity, with opportunities to transition to future infrastructure projects after the initial assignment.
About the Role:
The Highway Construction Scheduler will support a large highway and transit program in the Los Angeles area by developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed construction schedules for complex heavy civil projects. The scheduler will work within an integrated project controls environment supporting coordination between owners, contractors, and internal project teams.
The position is based at a project site in Norwalk, CA.
This is a long-term role with continuity across major infrastructure programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain logic-driven construction schedules for highway and heavy civil projects
Build cost- and resource-loaded schedules to support planning and forecasting
Track progress against baselines and identify schedule risks or delays
Perform schedule impact and variance analysis and support mitigation planning
Review contractor schedules and coordinate comments and revisions
Maintain critical path activities and key project interfaces
Prepare time-scaled schedules, sequencing narratives, and visual reports
Provide clear schedule reporting and progress updates to project leadership
Collaborate with project controls, engineering, construction, and stakeholder teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in construction scheduling for heavy civil, highway, or large infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of construction means and methods
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including cost and resource loading
Experience supporting large, multi-phase infrastructure programs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience:
Public-sector or transportation agency project experience
Alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR/CMGC, or P3
Exposure to highways, bridges, tunnels, transit systems, or airport infrastructure
Certifications such as PMP, PSP, or CCM
