Client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our heavy civil and highway construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, expertise in project planning and execution, and a solid understanding of DOT regulations and industry standards.
In this role you will lead project planning, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling activities to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget as well as coordinating and collaborating with engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
The Heavy Civil Project Manager will manage all project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports as well as monitor construction progress and proactively address any delays or issues to keep projects on track.
In this role you will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards on site as well as control project costs by tracking expenses, approving invoices, and maintaining budget oversight.
The Heavy Civil Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, DOT representatives, and internal stakeholders as well as conduct regular on-site inspections and participate in project meetings to assess performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum 3 years of project management experience in heavy civil or highway construction.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operations (dozers, graders, excavators).
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and construction industry standards.
Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, and HCSS.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
