We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Healthcare Collections Specialist with 1–3 years of experience in medical collections. This role is responsible for managing outstanding balances from both patients and insurance providers, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement while maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy.
This is a 100% onsite, temp-to-perm opportunity with a reputable healthcare organization—ideal for someone looking to grow into a long-term role.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up on outstanding patient and insurance balances via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Review and analyze aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.
Resolve denied or unpaid claims by working with insurance companies and internal billing teams.
Set up and manage patient payment plans in accordance with company policies.
Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities in the system.
Communicate with patients regarding balances, insurance coverage, and payment options.
Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate claim submission and follow-up.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
2–3 years of experience in healthcare collections (both patient and insurance).
Strong understanding of medical billing, EOBs, and insurance claim processes.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or billing is a plus.
