Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for a direct hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX. This role is ideal for a dependable and technically skilled service professional with 3 to 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience who is ready to join a stable, team-oriented environment with strong leadership, ongoing training, and opportunities for long-term career growth.
The HVAC Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and/or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system performance issues using proper testing tools, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform preventive maintenance, seasonal inspections, and system tune-ups to support reliable equipment performance.
- Replace defective parts and components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, capacitors, control boards, and related HVAC equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, maintenance logs, and customer communication regarding recommended repairs or service needs.
- Follow safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicle in proper working condition.
Compensation and Benefits

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Install and service residential and/or commercial HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and performance-related HVAC issues using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component replacements.
- Communicate service findings, repair recommendations, and maintenance needs clearly and professionally with customers.
- 3 to 5 years of HVAC technician experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- HVAC certification, trade school training, or apprenticeship experience preferred.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality service.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to respond to emergency service calls as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration License, Class A or B.
- NATE Certification.
- Experience with commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, or building automation systems.
- Experience using digital work order systems, field service software, or CRM platforms.
