HR Specialist (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Onsite at Bakersfield
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Range: $28.00–$33.00/hour
Our client in Bakersfield is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for a temp-to-perm opportunity supporting school personnel programs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in the education industry, particularly in credentialing for certificated and classified staff. The right candidate will be proactive, professional, and ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage credentialing compliance in coordination with the County of Education
Screen applications, coordinate interviews, and extend employment offers
Support employee relations, including Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims
Build university partnerships for recruitment and staffing
Administer benefits and respond to employee inquiries
Prepare job descriptions and assist with salary placement
Ensure compliance with internal policies and collective bargaining agreements
Participate in HR committees and support organizational goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
2–3 years of HR experience, must be within the education sector
Proficiency with HRIS systems
Strong verbal communication and professional presence
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Bilingual in Spanish preferred (not required)
Interview Focus:
In addition to reviewing skills and experience, candidates will be evaluated on their communication skills, professional appearance, and ability to represent the organization in a conservative, formal environment.
