Job Title: Human Resources Manager with a strong background in the Oil and Gas

Salary Range: $95,000 – $125,000 annually (DOE)
Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in the Oil and Gas industry to lead HR operations for a growing organization in Bakersfield, CA. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on HR professional with a deep understanding of employment law, compensation structures, and workforce planning specific to the petroleum sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals in the oil and gas industry
Create and maintain job descriptions, compensation structures, and wage analysis for field and corporate roles
Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and employee development
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including OSHA and industry-specific safety regulations
Administer employee relations, benefits, and performance management programs
Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures
Support payroll and HRIS functions (Paylocity preferred)
Coach and support HR Generalists and other team members
Lead strategic planning initiatives related to workforce development and retention
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resource Management from an accredited institution
Minimum 5 years of HR management experience, in oil and gas or a related industrial environment
Strong knowledge of employment law, safety compliance, and HR best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Paylocity, Paychex, or ADP is a plus
SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
