Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a contract/temporary opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on human resources professional with strong payroll experience, solid HRIS knowledge, and the ability to support a busy HR team with accuracy, professionalism, and flexibility.

The HR Generalist will support two HR Managers and play an important role in day-to-day HR operations, including payroll processing, onboarding, offboarding, recruiting coordination, employee records, and general HR administration. Key Responsibilities

- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Process bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity using established procedures and internal checklists.
- Perform payroll checks and balances to help ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including maintaining employee records and HR documentation.
- Assist with recruiting coordination and administrative support throughout the hiring process.
- Support staffing operations and general HR projects while balancing multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $66,560 to $70,720 per year.
- Contract/temporary opportunity.
- Location: Irvine, CA.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Work arrangement: 100% onsite with the opportunity to transition to hybrid after approximately 90 days.
- Schedule may begin part-time at 20 to 25 hours per week and transition to full-time, or may follow a full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and HR documentation.
- Process bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity and complete payroll checks and balances.
- Support recruiting coordination and day-to-day HR administrative operations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist with general staffing support.

- At least 3 years of payroll experience.
- Experience working with HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of basic employment laws, HR regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Paylocity is strongly aligned with the payroll responsibilities of this role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to support two HR Managers, adapt quickly to different working styles, and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, onsite HR environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior HR Generalist experience supporting payroll, onboarding, employee records, and recruiting coordination.
- Experience in a staffing, high-volume hiring, or fast-paced administrative HR environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Paylocity and HRIS-based employee data management.
- Ability to transition smoothly between part-time and full-time workload expectations as business needs evolve.
