A local East Bay Client is looking to hire an experienced and mission-driven HR Generalist to provide comprehensive support across all areas of human resources. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, supporting employees and managers, and fostering a positive, growth oriented workplace culture. The ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of California labor laws, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to effective HR operations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Leave Management & Accommodation
-Oversee employee leave requests, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA-related leaves, and disability claims.
-Manage the reasonable accommodation process in compliance with ADA requirements.
-Administer and track workers’ compensation claims in partnership with insurance carriers and employees.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
-Provide guidance on performance evaluations, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.
-Assist with employee complaints, grievances, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
-Collaborate with managers to ensure consistent and equitable application of HR policies and procedures.
-Support employee engagement and coaching conversations.
Compensation & Benefits
-Prepare job descriptions, job analysis, and employment offers aligned with organizational compensation strategies.
-Partner with HR Admen to review compensation structures and benefit programs.
-Assist with pay administration, incentive programs, and payroll coordination.
Training & Development
-Develop and implement employee training programs to enhance compliance, leadership, and job skills.
-Conduct in-house trainings, including leadership development and compliance sessions.
-Maintain accurate training records to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
HR Administration & Policy Management
-Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook based on legal and organizational changes.
-Serve as administrator for HR systems and accounts, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
-Support HR audits, reporting, and other compliance-related activities.

-Salary structures, benefits administration, benchmarking
Compliance & Legal
-Labor law compliance, employment contract management, safety compliance, audit preparation
Workplace Culture & Well Being
-Employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, internal communications
HR Operations
-HRIS administration, records management, attendance and leave tracking, HR reporting and analytics

Qualifications
Required
-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
-5–7 years of overall HR experience, including 3–4 years in a Generalist-level role
-Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance
-Experience with leave administration, employee relations, performance management, and training facilitation
-Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
