We are seeking a motivated Garage Door Technician for a direct hire opportunity in central San Diego, CA. This field-based role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys solving problems, and can deliver a strong customer experience while working in residential service environments.
As a Garage Door Technician, you will diagnose garage door and opener issues, explain repair or replacement options, complete service work, and recommend solutions that meet each customer’s needs. This opportunity offers hands-on technical work, customer interaction, structured training, and the ability to build a long-term career in the residential and commercial service industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Visit residential customer locations to inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose garage door and opener issues.
- Perform garage door repairs, opener repairs, installations, adjustments, and related service work.
- Explain technical findings clearly and recommend repair or replacement solutions based on customer needs.
- Provide professional, consultative customer service throughout each appointment.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch or support teams.
- Follow safety procedures and represent the business professionally in the field.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- $25 per hour during training for up to 8 weeks.
- After training, compensation moves to 100% commission.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diagnose garage door and opener issues in residential service settings.
- Complete repairs, installations, and maintenance work in the field.
- Recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions to customers.
- Deliver a professional customer experience from arrival through job completion.
- 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in customer service, sales, home services, construction, installation, maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools in a hands-on service environment.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
- Ability to support a consultative sales approach by identifying customer needs and recommending solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience repairing or installing garage doors, garage door openers, or related residential service equipment.
- Experience in commission-based service, consultative sales, or home improvement sales.
- Familiarity with residential service calls, route-based work, or in-home customer appointments.
- Background in construction, residential maintenance, or skilled trades.
