We are seeking a Garage Door Technician for a direct hire opportunity in San Jose, CA. This field-based role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys hands-on repair work, customer interaction, and consultative sales.

As a Garage Door Technician, you will be the trusted expert homeowners rely on to diagnose garage door and opener issues, explain repair or replacement options, and deliver a positive service experience. Key Responsibilities

- Complete scheduled residential garage door service appointments throughout the San Jose service area.
- Diagnose garage door and opener issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Present service options, explain products and warranties, and support consultative sales conversations.
- Perform garage door repairs, installations, and service work accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Prepare estimates, review work orders, collect payment as needed, and maintain clear customer communication.
- Keep a company vehicle clean, organized, stocked, and ready for daily service calls.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Location: San Jose, CA 95128.
- Pay during training: $25 per hour for up to 8 weeks.
- After training: $20 per hour, offset by commission.
- Flexible schedule required, including weekends as needed.
- Field-based role with scheduled residential appointments.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Diagnose, repair, and service residential garage doors and garage door openers.
- Provide homeowners with clear repair recommendations and service options.
- Complete estimates, work orders, payment collection, and customer follow-up as needed.
- Maintain product knowledge of garage doors, openers, accessories, and related services.

- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred in a hands-on, customer-facing, sales, construction, home services, or repair environment.
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to homeowners.
- Professional, customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable recommending solutions and closing service or sales opportunities.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform physical work in residential field environments.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and around dirt, dust, noise, tools, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in garage door repair, installation, maintenance, or related residential service work.
- Previous experience in consultative sales, customer service, home services, or construction.
- Familiarity with garage doors, openers, accessories, warranties, and common residential repair solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage appointments independently in the field.
