AppleOne is partnering with a well-established agricultural operation to recruit a Grower Accountant to support both company-owned orchards and external grower partners. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys combining numbers with agriculture and wants to play a key role in financial performance, grower relationships, and operational decision-making.
About the Role
As a Grower Accountant, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing financial activity across farming operations, ensuring accurate crop costing, timely grower settlements, and clear financial reporting. You will work closely with orchard management, operations teams, and leadership to provide meaningful insights that support business growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain detailed financial records for company-owned orchards and third-party growers, including crop costs, allocations, and revenues.
Prepare and analyze cost-per-acre and cost-per-pound reports for specialty crops such as figs, pistachios, almonds, and other permanent crops.
Produce accurate monthly and annual grower statements and manage settlement processes to ensure transparency and on-time payments.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and crop planning initiatives through financial modeling and trend analysis.
Review accounts payable invoices, confirm proper coding by ranch and block, and reconcile grower receivables.
Track harvest yields, processing costs, and inventory movements through packers and processors.
Assist with audits, crop insurance documentation, and regulatory or compliance-related reporting.
Collaborate cross-functionally with farm managers, operations, and leadership to align financial data with field activity.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred but not required).
3–5+ years of agricultural accounting experience, ideally supporting permanent crops.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, crop cycles, and ag-specific financial processes.
Experience with agricultural accounting systems such as Famous, AgCode, Redline, or similar platforms.
Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion in a fast-paced, privately held environment.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Hands-on involvement with high-value specialty crops including figs, pistachios, and almonds.
Unique blend of internal orchard accounting and external grower services.
Opportunity to influence financial processes and support a growing agricultural operation.
