A leading commercial construction company is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting and financial management within the construction industry. This role requires expertise in prevailing wage compliance, job costing, and Sage accounting software to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting project managers, maintaining financial accuracy, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle accounts receivable/payable, payroll processing, and tax reporting/payments with a strong focus on compliance.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records with precision, ensuring accuracy in job costing for multiple projects.
- Manage prevailing wage payroll, ensuring compliance with government regulations and accurate wage reporting.
- Assist project managers with setting up new project files, managing subcontracts, processing change orders, and organizing documentation.
- Ensure financial transactions align with construction contract requirements, preparing reports as necessary.
- Administer financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring correct classification of expenses and adherence to financial guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of bookkeeping experience in a construction environment.
- Prevailing wage payroll and reporting expertise.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software—prior experience is a must.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and Outlook email.
- Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and finance teams.
