A construction contractor in Vista, CA is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. This in-office role is a strong fit for an organized bookkeeping professional who enjoys detailed accounting work, job costing, project tracking, and supporting construction finance operations from budget setup through project closeout.

Key Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain accurate financial and project data in QuickBooks and Procore.
- Assist with uploading contracts, change orders, and project documents into Procore while identifying and flagging sync issues with QuickBooks.
- Support accounts payable, progress billing, accounts receivable, job costing, budgeting, and administrative accounting tasks.
- Track project costs, budgets, billings, and profitability to help ensure each job is accurately costed and monitored.
- Maintain organized accounting records for internal reviews, year-end audits, general ledger reconciliations, and CPA request support.
- Assist with WIP schedule support and project closeout documentation as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Work Arrangement: In-office position in Escondido, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support construction bookkeeping, job costing, budgeting, and project cost tracking from setup through closeout.
- Enter, reconcile, and maintain accurate financial data in QuickBooks.
- Assist with progress billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, audit support, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Coordinate project documentation and cost tracking between QuickBooks and Procore.
- 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or office finance experience preferred for this level of role.
- Basic experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, including data entry and platform navigation.
- Ability to use Excel for basic spreadsheets, tracking lists, and simple totals.
- Previous office experience with a general contractor or subcontractor is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of job costing and how job costs differ from standard business expenses.
- Working knowledge of GAAP as it relates to construction contracts and revenue recognition.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven construction office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Procore is highly preferred, though training may be provided for candidates with strong technical aptitude.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial modeling.
- Experience supporting WIP schedules, project billing, change orders, and construction audit documentation.
- Prior experience tracking project profitability for residential, commercial, or office construction projects.
