Job Summary
We are seeking a Flat Laser Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Fresno, CA with a well-established metal products manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented CNC or laser cutting professional who enjoys precision work, hands-on production, and being part of a quality-focused team.
The Flat Laser Operator will set up, operate, and maintain CNC flat laser cutting machines to produce accurate metal parts according to job specifications. This position offers a stable production environment, supportive leadership, strong teamwork, and structured training through a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC flat laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures, along with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and the work area.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products using forklifts..
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, work orders, and job instructions.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and production procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Set up and operate CNC flat laser cutting equipment.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and job orders to complete production work accurately.
- Inspect finished metal parts using precision measuring tools.
- Support safe material handling, equipment maintenance, and quality-focused production.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant manufacturing, machining, CNC, or laser operation experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection and measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Basic math skills, including measurement conversions.
- Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, raw materials, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to adapt, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-changing production environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and new hire training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior flat laser cutting experience.
- Experience operating CNC equipment in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Familiarity with production drawings, blueprints, and precision inspection processes.
